Statement made by India on Agenda item 4 of the 3rd session of the Inter-Governmental Group of Experts on Consumer Law & Policy – Delivered by Dr. Sadre Alam, First Secretary

Thank you Madam Chair.

2. On agenda item 4, we wish to propose addition of an additional standing agenda item in the provisional agenda for the next IGE session.

3. As it is important to incrementally benefit from the work of the previous IGE sessions, we propose that a follow-up report on the implementation of the actionable agreed conclusions be prepared and submitted as a background document by the Secretariat. This would not only help enrich the discussions by experts but also help enhance the effectiveness of this inter-governmental body and fulfill its own mandate and an important objective of the Nairobi Maafikiano, the revitalization of the inter-Governmental machinery.

4. Hence we propose the additional agenda item –

Update on the implementation of the actionable agreed conclusions of the 3rd IGE session

Thank you.
